I had these lovely flowers from Tom for Easter and took some pics on my phone. They came out really well, I think it was more to do with the lighting than my skills or the camera!

A Cracking Easter

I had a go at making my own Easter eggs this year with varying degrees of success! It's good as everyone gets their favourite chocolate, I did a turkish delight egg for my mum, Cadburys mini eggs (with varying fillings), a totally solid crispy cake egg and a galaxy egg with popcorn (for my very sweet toothed brother!). It was very melty and messy but I think I'd do it again (if only so I get to eat all the remaining chocolate. Again).

From Paris with love x

It was mum and dad's 30th wedding anniversary this month and they went to Paris to celebrate. We sent them on a romantic river cruise down the Seine and I made them the above little book with all the information and details in.

To sketch or not to sketch, that is the question.

I thought it was time for a bit of sketchbook blogging and looking through my book found there weren't actually that may sketches! It's strange how each sketchbook seems to vary in content, obviously this will happen due to the nature of projects and ideas, but I thought it was interesting in terms of style and content and how I express and jot down ideas could be so different from book to book. This one (started in October) mainly consists of text but I've found some sketches to post, mainly scribbled pencil crayoned ones as seems to be the style of this book!

Wish I was here...

These past couple of days of sun have got me craving warmer climes. This illustration is from a book I'm working on. Set somewhere lovely and warm, with summer breezes drifting off the ocean and the smell of exotic flowers in the air. Much more coming soon!
